Big news, everyone! The Nomadic Network is back! TNN is a community we created for travellers in 2019. Its goal is to help travellers connect through local meetups around the globe.
In 2020, we will focus on virtual events. We will connect you with a variety of speakers who can teach you about budget travel, itinerary planning, travel insurance, finding friends, and information about specific locations.
We also ran 25 tours in Europe, the Middle East, and Mexico. It was amazing to see all these like-minded people form friendships.
Last summer, however, I decided that I would like to spend more time writing books. This meant I had to reduce all my business activities, so I took the hard decision to pause TNN until I could figure out how to balance my new goals with TNN.
One of the amazing TNN leaders, who has been with TNN since its inception, offered to take over and continue the community and tour. Lisa Field will be the one to run TNN in the future.
Lisa is a community leader who has shown initiative and leadership over the years. She attended more than 100 virtual events in addition to hosting the Portland Chapter’s monthly meetings. She has also hosted some events and represented TNN at various travel conferences. We were at TravelCon early this year.
In 2019, she started a travel blog with travel hacks and tips for international travel. In addition, she joined The Nomadic Network as the founding chapter leader of Portland. She has even run local tours offering hikes and winter snowshoeing trips in the Pacific Northwest.
When she offered to take TNN over, it was a perfect fit. What better person could guide the community in its next phase than another member of the same community? TNN was created for this purpose. I wanted to create a space where travellers could find “their people” and improve their lives.
TNN Community Events
TNN is back with events. In the coming month, TNN will host a series of events that will connect travellers with people and resources to help them travel differently, better, and more. The events will be free to all who want to attend.
If you would like to join the Portland, Oregon Chapter, they host monthly meetups in the city. Sign up here.
TNN Tours 2025
These tours will look very much like the TNN Tours of recent years. The tours are still designed to be shared with other travellers who share similar interests. The emphasis will still be on cultural immersion and local interaction.
The tours will still be budget-conscious, but all accommodations will at least be three stars (after all, everyone wants/needs to sleep well). Tour prices will also include most of the expected gratuities.
Lisa will also be on every tour, travelling herself.
